A straightforward turbine concept in the Proteus flow gauge produces an output pulse directly proportional to the flow rate. A hall effect transistor is turned on and off as fluid passes through the flow sensor by magnets in the six-spoke rotor. The sensor generates a square wave pulse signal with an amplitude of 5-28 VDC based on the input voltage.
